License: Valid RN license required. Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred. Must-Have: High acuity PCU patient experience. Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in progressive care. Experience in oncology is preferred but not required. The unit is focused on medical oncology with progressive care beds. The nurse will be responsible for caring for high-acuity patients. Pediatric patients may rarely be on this unit and are generally cared for by permanent staff. Nurses are expected to adhere to strict infection prevention protocols. Special procedures and unit details include a telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to PCU level of care. The nurse will utilize special equipment, including telemetry monitors and infusion pumps. Required skills include managing central lines, IVs, and administering blood products. Monitoring cardiac drips and interpreting dysrhythmias are also essential tasks. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
