Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 to 2 years License: Must hold a valid nursing license Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Experience in cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage dysrhythmias. Familiarity with telemetry and rapid response teams. Experience with post-myocardial infarction and pre/post-cardiac catheterization. Knowledge of IV insulin protocols and feeding tube care/management. Experience in continuous bladder irrigation and pre/post-hemodialysis management. Skills in accessing ports, blood product administration, and central line care/management. Experience starting IVs and managing PICC lines. Ability to manage medications including heparin protocols and cardiac drips. Experience with chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC). Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and manage oxygen delivery systems. Knowledge of wound care and isolation precautions. Description: The position involves providing nursing care in a progressive care unit. Responsibilities include monitoring patients and responding to emergencies. Nurses will care for a diverse patient population with various medical conditions. Expectations include assisting with medications and executing care protocols. Floating between units may be required to meet facility needs. Nurses will not be assigned a home unit and will float as necessary. Weekend shifts are required as part of the schedule.
