Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: 1 to 2 years License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Experience in telemetry and intermediate care - Skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency response - Ability to interpret dysrhythmias - Proficient in medication administration - Preparedness to float between units as needed Description: The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population. Patients may present with a variety of conditions, including heart failure, myocardial infarction, stroke, and respiratory issues. The nurse will perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication administration will be key responsibilities. The RN will be involved in the management of post-cardiac catheterization patients and insulin protocols. Feeding tube care and continuous bladder irrigation will also be included in the role. The nurse will manage tracheostomy care, chest tubes, and patient education on disease processes. Isolation precautions and wound care management will be required. The nurse must be prepared to float between departments and assist with varied patient needs. Weekend shifts are required as part of the scheduling process. The position may involve charge nurse assignments as needed for unit support. All shifts and duties will align with facility guidelines and nursing standards.
