Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge and teaching hospital experience preferred. First-timers accepted. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit. Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period, combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Description: Position is for a Registered Nurse in a PCU setting. Patient ratios are 1:5. Required skills include management of dysrhythmias, telemonitoring, and emergency response. Experience with post cardiac, angiogram, post MI, and pre/post cardiac cath is necessary. Familiarity with IV insulin protocols and feeding tube care and management is essential. Proficient in pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care is required. IV therapy skills include blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management. Medications management includes heparin protocols, cardiac drips without titration, PCA, and procedural sedation administration. Experience in neurological assessment, particularly CVA, and orthopedic care for joint replacements is necessary. Must have skills in chest tube management, non-invasive airway management, and tracheostomy care. Isolation precautions and wound care experience are essential. Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required. The clinician will need to float to care for inpatient holds. All candidates must comply with current vaccination requirements. Compliance documents are due 2 Fridays before the start date. Modules must be completed as part of compliance.
