Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required. License: Must have an active nursing license prior to start date. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: - PCU/MS/Tele experience within the last year. - Ability to manage high acuity patient population. - Float required every third weekend. - Self-scheduling available. Description: Looking for a Registered Nurse with PCU/MS/Tele skillset due to a high acuity patient population. This position involves caring for highly acute patients, ranging from med-surg type patients to intubated/trached patients on ventilation. Patients typically require extended stays in the hospital before being discharged to home, acute rehab, or skilled nursing facilities. Common conditions include post-operative care, cystic fibrosis, ventilator weaning, pulmonary fibrosis, and a high volume of sepsis patients. ICU nurses may be floated to this unit when necessary due to the higher acuity of the patients. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:5. Candidates must have the ability to handle complex patient care scenarios and demonstrate strong clinical judgment. Experience with various procedures and treatments, including complex wound care and dysrhythmia management, is essential. Interdisciplinary support is available from various healthcare professionals. The patient demographic includes adults with serious complex health conditions requiring long-term acute care treatments. Specialized treatment includes respiratory failure, osteomyelitis, and acute kidney injury, among others.
