Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of PCU experience required License: Valid state or compact nursing license required at the time of submission Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Previous charge experience, experience with patient ratios, experience with electronic charting systems Description: Rotating weekdays and weekends Rotating holidays Traveler will be required to float to different units as needed Estimated patient ratios are 1:4 Experience in PCU is required Mandatory certifications are BLS, ACLS, and NIH Experience with electronic charting systems is essential Ability to administer blood products, manage craniotomy patients, and care for CVA and TBI patients Knowledge of heparin protocols and hemianopia management protocols Familiarity with neurology-specific skills and procedures such as TNK administration and lumbar drains Understanding of isolation precautions and proper use of PPE Experience in managing dysrhythmias and providing post-TPA care Will interact with interdisciplinary support staff including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services Must be responsive and cooperative during the credentialing process Two professional references from previous employers are required, including one from a supervisor or manager No coworker references will be accepted Candidates must have completed education from an accredited nursing program
