Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years of recent progressive care experience License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Ability to float within the organization as needed. Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management. Experience with rapid response/code teams, IV therapy, and blood product administration. Experience with central line and PICC care, heparin protocols, respiratory support, wound care, and pre/post-surgical patient care. Description: This unit is a Stepdown/PCU unit with 32 beds. The average daily census is 25 to 32 patients. The unit cares for patients with various medical diagnoses as well as pre- and post-surgical patients. The level of care provided includes PCU-level. Shift hours are 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekly scheduling includes 36 hours, with every other weekend required. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with dysrhythmia management and telemetry. They must possess the ability to interpret dysrhythmias effectively. Experience with IV management and blood administration is critical. Candidates should be comfortable providing care to patients with mixed acuity levels. The position requires participation in rapid response and code teams. Additional skills preferred include management of central lines and PICC lines. Wound care experience is also beneficial. All candidates must complete required credentialing processes in a timely manner. Professionals are expected to have a strong commitment to patient care and teamwork.
