Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit experience License: Valid compact or state nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Ability to float to different units as needed - Experience with patient ratios of 1:4 - Experience in a PCU setting Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Progressive Care Unit. The role involves rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Travelers will be required to float to different units within the organization as needed. The shift is from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Estimated patient ratios are 1:4. Candidates must have years of PCU experience. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required. Experience with an electronic health record system is mandatory. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary. The patient diagnoses may include strokes, medical-surgical patients, and other neurological conditions. Special equipment and procedures include TNK administration and lumbar drains. Compliance with fingerprinting and credentialing processes is required. References from a manager or director are necessary. Candidates must be responsive and cooperative with credentialing to avoid delays.
