Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 14 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty - Progressive Care experience required License: - Compact or Kentucky state license required Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Management of dysrhythmias - Post TPA care - Pre/Post neurosurgery - Seizure disorders - Spinal cord injury - Telemetry - Traumatic Brain Injury Description: This position requires working 5-6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks. The role involves caring for stroke patients in a progressive care setting. Floating to other units may be necessary if needed. Previous ICU experience is preferred. Neuro/stroke experience is highly desired. Candidates must be flexible to work weekends and holidays. Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted. Familiarity with monitoring telemetry patients is essential. Basic life support and advanced cardiac life support certifications are mandatory. A strong understanding of neurological assessments and stroke scales is required. Candidates must demonstrate competency in managing patients with acute neurological conditions. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various healthcare professionals including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Daily patient ratios are expected to be around 4:1. Candidates should be experienced with the Epic charting system. Compliance with additional exams and competencies will be required. Candidates must have a solid understanding of acute care nursing principles. Previous charge nurse experience is advantageous.
