The unit typically manages drips and more acute patients. The Registered Nurse performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The nurse evaluates health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data. Health teaching and counseling are part of the role. The position involves providing therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being, either directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others. Executing delegated medical functions is essential. The nurse will refer patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment. Monitoring and reviewing therapy and treatment plans are required. Documentation must align with hospital and regulatory guidelines. Resource utilization will be necessary. Candidates must promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization and abide by service behavior standards. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Floating to other departments may be required based on business need. Candidates may be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
