Description:
The position involves caring for patients in a mixed acuity neuroscience and high-risk respiratory unit.
Targeted patient ratios are 1:4-6.
The unit may utilize a team nursing model where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs collaborate to care for a group of patients.
Nurses may function in team or primary nursing roles depending on unit needs.
Staff will provide care to patients with conditions such as cerebrovascular accidents, transient ischemic attacks, seizures, and other neurological issues.
Responsibilities include managing high-risk respiratory patients and potentially floating to similar high-acuity areas.
Must be comfortable floating to support nursing care as needed.
Candidates should be available for every other weekend and holiday shifts.
The unit comprises 36 beds.
Interdisciplinary support includes various clinical teams.
Proficient handling of specialized equipment is required for respiratory management.
Candidates must be comfortable with isolation precautions and high-flow oxygen management.
The use of heated high flow, BiPAP, and other ventilation support systems is expected.
Phlebotomy and central line management skills are preferred.
