Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Must have active Illinois license Certifications: ACLS and BLS required Must-Have: First-timers accepted Weekend requirement: Must work every other weekend Floating to similar units is required Description: Position involves working as an Intermediate Care Nurse. Average daily census is 38 patients. Experience required in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown. Candidates must be proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Skills needed include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry. Candidates should have experience with post-cardiac procedures such as angiograms and surgeries. Management of feeding tubes and experience with renal failure are required. IV therapy and phlebotomy skills are essential. Candidates must be familiar with managing heparin and vasoactive drips, PCA administration, and titration skills. Experience with CVA management and surgical drains is necessary. Respiratory skills including management of CPAP/BIPAP and oxygen therapy are required. Understanding of isolation precautions and wound care is essential. Previous charge experience is preferred. Familiarity with Cerner charting system is required. Experience in a teaching hospital and Level I trauma center is preferred.
