Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Virginia State or Compact RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience - Comfortable working all PCU and MS units - Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration - Skilled in central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support - Proficient in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation Description: Position responsible for providing patient care in a float capacity. Must be comfortable working across multiple units. Charting is required in EPIC system. Floating may occur 2-3 times per shift based on staffing needs. Weekend and holiday requirements apply. Accepts first-time travelers, local candidates under specific criteria. Must adhere to the call-off policy. Required to work one holiday per 13-week contract. Must have experience with cardiac drips, PCA management, and responding to emergencies. Background in telemetry and stepdown-level care is essential. Patient ratios in PCU average 5:1 and may flex according to patient needs. Candidates must meet specific compliance requirements. All requests for time off must be submitted upfront.
