Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM - 7:15 AM) Experience: 2+ years of experience, Neuro PCU experience required License: Active Michigan License Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS Certification Must-Have: Recent travel work history preferred Description: The Registered Nurse provides direct care to patients using the nursing process. This includes ongoing assessment of the total patient. The RN provides interventions to treat the presenting symptoms and evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions and patient's responses. The RN functions as a team leader/member and serves as a resource to others. The RN delegates, oversees, and provides direction to support staff. Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team is essential to establish goals and outcomes for each patient. The RN is responsible for meeting the needs of all types of patients. Responsibilities: Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician's authorized plan of care and accepted standards of evidence-based nursing practice. Provide direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, education, responding to call lights, assisting with transfers, responding to alarms, and other appropriate duties. Evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment plan and make suggestions or participate in updating/revising the treatment plan in collaboration with other team members. Utilize current information to improve patient care. The RN must be knowledgeable and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines, as well as hospital-specific policies and procedures relating to care provided.
