Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current TELE/PCU/Stepdown experience required. License: Must hold an active West Virginia or Compact license. Certifications: AHA BLS and AHA ACLS, NIHSS. Must-Have: Must be willing to float within scope of practice. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated. Description: This position requires 2 years of experience in a TELE/PCU/Stepdown environment. The nurse will provide care to patients with a 1:5 to 1:6 patient-to-nurse ratio. Experience with Meditech EMR is preferred. Certified nurses will be required to manage various clinical tasks including, but not limited to, cardiac telemetry, managing blood products, and care for patients with central lines. Nurses must be able to interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac drips, including monitoring chemotherapy if applicable. The role involves performing patient assessments, administering medications, and coordinating care with interdisciplinary team members. The nurse will also perform essential nursing duties such as IV starts, wound care, and the management of patients post-procedure. All nurses are required to comply with protocols and maintain a high standard of care within the unit. Candidates should be prepared to adapt to a dynamic clinical environment with changing patient census and staffing needs.
