Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Must have valid state license in hand Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have a teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations. Description: The role requires adherence to call-off policy. This is a mixed unit that involves PCU, Med Surg/Tele, and Med Surg patients. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4-5. First-time travelers are accepted if they have greater than 3 years of experience. Weekend work is required every other weekend for both night and day shifts. The clinician may float within the scope of practice to meet facility needs. Floating may occur to areas such as ICU, ER, and Behavioral Health as needed. The position does not allow for accommodating block scheduling. Candidates must be willing to float to other areas as necessary. The patient demographic includes adults and geriatrics. This role involves caring for patients with diagnoses such as COVID, stroke, NSTEMI, chest pain, AKI, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, CHF exacerbation, cellulitis, and altered mental status. Special equipment includes safe patient handling equipment. The work setting involves telemetry and cardiac monitoring. Management of dysrhythmias is required. Familiarity with computerized charting systems is necessary. The hiring facility operates as a short-term acute care facility and is designated as a Level 1 Trauma Center. Team nursing models are utilized to support patient care. Interdisciplinary support is available, including therapy, interpretation services, and pharmacy. Two references from the last 24 months are required.
