Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous experience in an IMCU/Step Down unit. - Ability to manage cardiac drips, post-cath lab procedural care, and tracheostomy/ventilator care. - Patient ratio experience of 1:4. Description: The position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to float between units as needed. Weekends are required, with a commitment of 6 shifts per schedule period. The expected patient care ratio is 1 nurse to 4 patients during night shifts. Candidates should be comfortable working with cardiac drips and managing complex patient care needs. Experience with certain patient diagnoses including Afib, NSTEMI, ARF, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, and HTN is preferred. Special procedures in the unit include TAVR, Watchman, and heart catheterizations. Interdisciplinary support is available, with teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services. This role involves collaboration with various healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care. The unit has 32 beds and a daily census of approximately 30 patients. Candidates must have strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and adaptability in response to patient care demands are essential for success in this role.
