Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 to 2 Years Experience Required License: Compact or Missouri RN License Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Preferred: ACLS Must-Have: - Previous Charge Experience Preferred - Charting System Experience with Epic Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a Progressive Care Unit. Patient ratios are 1:5. First-time applicants are welcome. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be needed per unit. Weekend requirements include a minimum of 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling period, with a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts. The clinician may float within the facility to meet needs. This position will not be assigned a home unit and will float between various departments as needed. Required skills include management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care. Experience with patients suffering from conditions such as sepsis, wounds, renal failure, atrial fibrillation, gastrointestinal bleeding, stroke, and COVID-19 is essential. Preferred skills include sheath removal, feeding tube care, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line management. This role does not require on-call availability. Block scheduling is not accommodated. Candidates residing within a 75-mile radius will not be considered. Responsibilities include patient assessment, planning, and implementation of care. The RN will collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy. Compliance with training modules and completion of required certifications is mandatory prior to commencing the position. This role may require additional training on specific equipment and protocols as needed.
