Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Travel experience required - Previous charge experience preferred - Patient ratio experience required - Charting system experience preferred - Experience with Cerner preferred Description: Seeking a registered nurse for a progressive care unit. The position requires start date availability within the next 3-5 weeks. Travel experience and a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience are required. Candidates must have previous charge nurse experience and familiarity with patient ratios. Experience in a charting system is preferred. Candidates should possess certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Skills required include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and cardiac telemetry. Nurses will be responsible for central line care and management, chest tube management, and CVA care. Candidates must be proficient in the interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias. Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge are necessary. Management of cardiac drips, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management is a must. Nurses will administer oxygen, manage PCA, and care for peripheral lines and PICC lines. Experience with post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI care, and pre/post-cardiac catheterization is needed. Skills in hemodialysis management and wound care are also important. The unit sees adult and geriatric patients with a daily census of 24. The nurse will be caring for a maximum of 4 patients per shift. Some weekend coverage and holiday work may be required. Candidates must pass an on-site drug screen prior to starting.
