Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2+ years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Telemetry competency Progressive Care experience Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit. The unit has a total of 20 beds. Day shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 4 registered nurses, and 2 certified nursing assistants. Night shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 4 registered nurses, and 2 certified nursing assistants. Patient ratios are 1:5 to 1:6, dependent on the level of care. This is an inpatient overflow unit with mixed levels of care, including medical surgical and step-down patients. The unit accommodates short-stay patients with a target length of stay of 24 hours. Expect a quick turnover of patients. Telemetry equipment is used on this unit. If telemetry monitoring is indicated, all patients are hardwired to a bedside monitor. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner. Candidates without telemetry competency and progressive care experience will not be considered for this role. Candidates with recent progressive care experience will be prioritized. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and be focused on patient experience. A kind, compassionate nature and the ability to work well with others are essential for this position. Travelers may be required to float to other units if necessary. Every other weekend is required, but no on-call duty is necessary.
