Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse in a PCU setting.
The unit consists of 10 beds with patient ratios of 2:1 for ICU and 4-5:1 for PCU.
Staffing includes 1 Charge RN and 5 Staff RNs on day shifts, along with similar staffing on night shifts.
The unit does not have unit secretaries or patient care technicians.
Equipment includes lift equipment, Targeted Temperature Management systems, ventilators, and IV pumps.
Documentation is performed using Cerner.
Shifts are 12 hours with every other weekend and holiday support required.
No on-call requirements exist, but travelers will be required to float.
Bedside shift report is mandatory in all areas of the facility.
The relief charge nurse is expected to perform nurse leader rounding.
Responsibilities include assisting providers with bedside procedures such as chest tube insertion and intubations as needed.
A dress code of navy blue or white scrubs is required.
Unit-specific policies and guidelines will be provided upon hire.
