Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required License: Must have an active state nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS required Must-Have: Candidate must successfully pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required. Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment. Every other weekend coverage required. Float required to Telemetry and/or Med-Surg as needed. Description: The Registered Nurse will work in the Intermediate Care unit. The shift will be 3x12 hours during the night. The candidate will be responsible for providing care to adult patients. Patient diagnoses include chronic health conditions, diabetes, respiratory issues, and other acute medical conditions. The unit typically cares for up to 15 patients daily with a ratio of 6 patients per nurse. Nurses will provide interdisciplinary support in collaboration with physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The role includes managing various medical tasks such as IV therapy, telemetry monitoring, and the use of specialized equipment. Every other weekend coverage is a requirement, with the unit directing weekend schedules based on operational needs. The nurse will be expected to float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements. The candidate should be familiar with patient care protocols and demonstrate proficiency in managing complex patient needs. The position requires effective communication and teamwork skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes. A strong emphasis is placed on patient safety and quality care.
