Job Title: Clinical Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC) Must-Have: ACLS, NIHSS, Charge Nurse experience, and Precepting experience Description: Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self. Attends education programs based on identified learning needs. Uses patient education materials relevant to patient population with assistance. Assesses readiness to learn of the patient, family, and caregivers. Recognizes developmental levels of patients and factors affecting their ability to learn. Identifies expected patient outcomes and seeks guidance as needed in revision of the plan of care. Participates in discussions with members of the interdisciplinary team regarding patient care evaluation. Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care. Is knowledgeable about activities which facilitate intra/interdepartmental collaboration. Participates in the development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities.
