Comfortable titrating various medications including Argatroban, Digoxin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Dofetilde, Dopamine, Esmolol, Lasix, Insulin, Labetalol, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Nicardipine, Nitroglycerine, Sotalol, Tirofiban. Description: The position involves working in a progressive care unit focusing on cardiac patients. The unit has a total of 28 beds with an average census of 26. Patient types include those with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, NSTEMI/STEMI, and chest pain. Post-cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedure care are also common. Additional diagnoses may involve arrhythmia management, peripheral artery disease, and DVT/PE. Patient ratios are approximately 1 RN to 4-5 patients. There is support from nursing assistants who assist with vital signs and daily living activities. The RN will be responsible for telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms. Technology used includes an electronic medical record system, IV pumps, and medication dispensing systems. Teamwork is highly valued, contributing to a positive unit culture.
