Job Details
  • Position: Registered Nurse - PCU
  • Location: Asheville
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks
  • Shift: Night Shift
  • Schedule: 3x12
  • Experience Required: 2 Years
  • Weekly Pay: $1860 to $2060
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients requiring step-down or progressive care services
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments as prescribed
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, telemetry data, and other patient monitoring systems
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Respond promptly to patient emergencies and changes in clinical status
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care standards
  • Support patients throughout recovery and transition to lower levels of care
Requirements
  • Active RN License in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, Step-Down, Telemetry, or Critical Care nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • ACLS Certification required
  • NIHSS certification 
  • Strong cardiac monitoring and patient assessment skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced acute care environment
