Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Float Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required. License: Current RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Float required to various units within the facility. Experience with patient ratio of 1:4-5 in PCU and 1:5-6 in MS, MS Tele. Experience with Epic charting system is required. Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in PCU Float. The position involves caring for adult to geriatric patients. 1 year of experience is required, and first-time travelers are accepted. The nurse will float to all medical-surgical, telemetry, and PCU units within the facility. Working ratio for PCU will be 1:4-5; for MS and MS Tele, it will be 1:5-6. The work schedule includes every other weekend, averaging 6 weekends in a 13-week contract. If one major holiday falls during the assignment, the nurse is expected to work it. For two major holidays, the nurse must work both. For three major holidays, the nurse must work two of them. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day. Full compliance is required to start on time, with no exceptions. A variety of diagnoses will be present in the patient population, including all potential medical-surgical and telemetry conditions. Skills required include arterial line management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, care of ventilated patients, and more. The role also demands proficiency in managing cardiac and vasoactive drips. The ability to interpret dysrhythmias and provide isolation precautions is essential. Nurses will be responsible for phlebotomy, central line care, and pacing device management as needed. Teamwork will include interdisciplinary support with various departments such as respiratory services, physical therapy, and pharmacy. Successful candidates will showcase strong assessment and critical thinking skills necessary for managing complex patient needs.
