Unit Information
  • Beds: 16 beds, all private rooms - 0 negative pressure capability
  • Minimum Years of Experience required: 18 months Cardiac Tele RN or PCU RN experience
  • First-time traveler: Not preferred but will consider

  • CV Surgery, Heart Failure, Chest pain, Cardiac Cath pre/post, management of TR bands, AFB
  • IV medication: Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Milrinone, Diltiazem, IV Sotalol
  • Medical overflow
Patient Ratios
  • RN: 1:4
Required License, National Certification, Certs
  • PCU/MedTele RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Skills Required
  • PIV starts, NG Tube placement/management, Pleurx drains
  • Management of various surgical drains, chest tube management
Support within the Department
  • CNA's - assist nursing team with ADL's, bathing, foley care, mobility, turning and repositioning
  • Phlebotomy - Combined effort between RNs, CNA's
  • IV/VAT Team - Yes
  • Resource Nurse - when staffing allows
  • RT 24/7 - assigned to multiple units
  • Hospitalist 24/7 - Yes, not unit based
  • Telemetry monitoring - All patients require telemetry monitoring
