Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: RN License Required Certifications: NIHSS, BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Telemetry experience Description: Unit Information: Acute care unit with 25 inpatient beds, capable of accommodating up to 27 with additional emergency department holds. The day shift consists of a Charge Nurse, 4-5 Registered Nurses, and 2-3 Patient Care Technicians/Health Unit Coordinators, with a House Supervisor on weekends. The night shift includes a Charge Nurse, 4-5 Registered Nurses, and 2-3 Patient Care Technicians, with a House Supervisor available every night. Patient-to-nurse ratios are managed to ensure quality care. Equipment utilized in the unit includes BiPAP, Vapotherm, Lifts, Baxter Pumps, and telemetry for continuous oxygen monitoring. The electronic medical record system in use is Cerner. Key skills sought in candidates include telemetry experience. ICU experience is preferred but not mandatory. Typical procedures performed on the unit include wound care. The ideal candidate will possess a team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills. The unit operates under established guidelines and policies, with adherence to set attendance policies. Staff must be flexible with scheduling and are expected to work rotating weekends.
