Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in interventional cardiac care. License: Active compact license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: - Experience with heavy interventional cardiac patients. - Proficient in IV skills and sheath removal. - Competence in managing stable drips and dysrhythmia interpretation. - Flexibility to float to like units. Description: Candidates must have been separated from any other facility for at least 3 months. All facilities honor active compact licenses. Experience is heavy on interventional cardiac patients and procedures. The unit does not accept first-time travelers. No weekends, holidays, or call are required for this position. The role involves pre/post invasive diagnostics procedures and cardioversion. Experience with Pre/post angiograms and elective PCI is necessary. Candidates will care for EP patients, including ablation, lead placement, and pacer placement. Post-operative recovery for structural heart procedures that require same-day discharge is expected. Skills in TEE, procedure sedation, blood/blood products administration, and cardioversion/defibrillation are essential. Experience in epicardial pacer management and sheath removal is necessary. Telemetry interpretation, heparin administration, and insulin management are required skills. Candidates must have critical care competencies and be familiar with managing cardiac and vasoactive drips. Experience with telemetry monitoring is also required. The unit has interdisciplinary support from respiratory services and rapid response teams. A patient ratio of 1:3 is expected during days. Additional requirements include the ability to handle diverse patient diagnoses related to interventional cardiac procedures. Candidates should be prepared to file references covering the previous year during the compliance process. Modules may be required for ongoing professional development.
