Registered Nurse – PACU

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | 5x8-Hour Shifts (12:00–20:30)
Key Responsibilities- Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical or procedural interventions in a PACU setting
- Monitor and assess patient vitals, pain levels, and recovery progress following anesthesia
- Maintain a standard patient ratio of 1:2, with the ability to accommodate up to 1:4 during overflow situations
- Participate in an on-call rotation every third weekend, with call shifts covering either 7a–7p or 7p–7a
- Adhere to facility emergency response protocols, which may include assignment to an emergency team during declared events
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submittal
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU specialty
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA certifications required)
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (as verified by address on driver's license)
- First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position
- Current NURSYS report required and must be dated within 4 weeks of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior travel nursing experience in a PACU or surgical recovery environment
- Familiarity with overflow patient management and flexible patient ratio environments
