Registered Nurse – PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 10–12 hour shifts (alternating weekly) | 40 hours per week | Shift start 6:45 AM with call requirement
Key Responsibilities- Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical procedures in the PACU setting
- Monitor and assess patient status following anesthesia, identifying and responding to changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe patient transitions and continuity of care
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as required by the department schedule
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Demonstrated clinical competency in a PACU or surgical services environment
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in a PACU, surgical services, or perioperative nursing setting
- Familiarity with post-anesthesia assessment and pain management protocols
- Experience with on-call scheduling in a surgical environment
