Registered Nurse – PACU

Contract | Days (5x8 Hours, 7:00–15:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to both adult and pediatric surgical patients across a high-volume, multi-floor surgical department supporting 34 operating rooms.
  • Support patients undergoing all major surgical services, including endoscopy, interventional radiology, pulmonary lab, and CT/MRI procedures.
  • Administer and monitor care for patients receiving regional anesthesia and ECT procedures.
  • Float to pediatric PACU as needed, caring for patients of all ages in both pre-op and recovery phases.
  • Operate specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein as required.
  • Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio and fulfill 2–3 scheduled weekend shifts per contract period.
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submission.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU specialty.
  • Current AHA-issued ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required.
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system.
  • Ability and willingness to float to pediatric PACU as assigned.
  • Willingness to participate in facility emergency response team assignments as directed by unit manager.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Background in PACU or Pre/Post-Op nursing strongly preferred.
  • Experience caring for pediatric surgical populations in a high-volume setting.
  • Familiarity with regional anesthesia monitoring and ECT procedures.
