Registered Nurse – PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)

Schedule / Job TypeContract (13 Weeks) | Days | Onsite | Shifts vary between 8 and 10 hours within the hours of 07:00–20:30; every other weekend required; on-call required
Key Responsibilities- Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients in the PACU setting
- Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, identifying and responding to changes in condition
- Administer medications and interventions per physician orders and established protocols
- Participate in on-call shifts as scheduled, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays
- Float within specialty, to other units, and to sister facilities within scope of practice as required
- Collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe and effective patient transitions
Required Qualifications- Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact RN license at time of submission
- Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Current PALS certification (American Heart Association only)
- CPI certification required (Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor)
- Willingness and ability to float within scope with no restrictions; comfort with on-call and weekend scheduling requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior travel nursing experience in a PACU or perioperative setting
- NRP or AAP certification
- Experience caring for a broad patient age range including pediatrics through adults
