Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years License: Valid CA License Certifications: ACLS BLS PALS Preferred certification for Post Anesthesia Recovery Must-Have: Charting System Experience: Required (Epic) Travel Experience Required Description: The position involves 8-hour shifts with variable day shifts based on the surgical schedule and unit needs. Typical start times include 0900, 1000, or 1330. Previous charge experience is preferred. Candidates should have a patient ratio experience relevant to the unit. Experience in trauma level II settings is required. Skills required include end-tidal CO2 monitoring, airway assessment, cardiac arrest/CPR, and pain assessment & management. Experience with post-anesthesia care, medication reconciliation, and discharge instructions is necessary. Knowledge of various surgical procedures and postoperative care protocols is essential. Providers should be capable of managing ventilated patients and administering monitored anesthesia care. Strong assessment skills, including interpreting lab values and arterial blood gases, are required. Candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities. Travelers must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. References covering 1 year within the last 3 years will be required during the compliance process. Providers may need to submit compliance documentation prior to start. Applicants should be prepared for potential housing limitations in the area. Module completion is required pre-start and annually, with an average of 16 hours spent. Completion of modules is self-reported.
