Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (08:30 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an acute hospital setting; ICU background highly preferred. License: Must have a valid nursing license. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Conscious Sedation Certification (highly preferred). Must-Have: - Hard stop sedations experience required. - Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. - Experience in all areas of endoscopy; floating required. Description: Conscious sedation experience is required. The position involves administering sedation and caring for patients undergoing procedures. You will be responsible for monitoring patients pre-procedure, during sedation, and post-procedure in a high-volume environment. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 in the sedation area and 1:2 in the post procedure area. CRNAs are available for patients requiring MAC sedation. Weekend call shifts are required, with 1-2 shifts per month. Experience in a teaching or trauma facility is preferred. The role requires familiarity with charting using Epic. Nurses must be comfortable functioning independently in a tech role with the provider and have experience with setting up procedure rooms and assisting physicians. Candidates should have proficiency with the flow of a hospital-based endoscopy department, including intake, recovery, and sedation. Access to offsite parking is available, with a shuttle service provided. Modules may be required before starting work. All nursing staff will be subject to compliance and training requirements.
