Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty License: Compact or LA license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS Must-Have: Candidates must be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed. Description: Please ensure the traveler is aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting the role, the unit manager may assign the traveler to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after an event passes or be part of a relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary. The traveler should not apply for this role if they are not comfortable with the above. Candidates should have a background in PACU or Pre/Post Op experience. Nurses care for pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery for both pediatric and adult populations. This department provides pre/post-op care for patients across multiple operating rooms. The unit supports all surgical/procedural populations excluding patients requiring critical care services. Candidates should be prepared to care for patients of all ages in both pre-op and Phase I and Phase II recovery. Patient diagnoses supported include various surgical services. Special equipment used in the unit includes Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and AccuVein. Patient ratios may vary. Scheduled weekend shifts are required as part of the contract. References to be provided for clearance to start the contract. NURSYS reports for RNs must be sent with the profile, ensuring that it is up to date. Travelers must be over 65 miles from the facility address. Resources who worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated for a full year before returning as travelers. Modules are billable and completed during orientation, factored into orientation hours.
