Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years in PACU or Pre/Post Op experience License: Compact or state license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS Must-Have: Candidates must be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed. Description: Candidates should be aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting the role, the unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing the travel contract, you accept this and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event occurs. You should not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with this expectation. The unit supports patients for all major surgical services. It provides pre/post-operative care to patients in both Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery. Patients of all ages are cared for in this unit. Candidates should be prepared to care for patients in a total of 34 operating rooms across two floors. The first floor includes 6 operating rooms and 2 cystoscopy suites, with a high volume of pediatric patients. The second floor has 28 operating rooms and services cases from various departments. The candidate ratio is 1:2. 2-3 weekend shifts are scheduled per contract. Experience with Epic is required. Special equipment used includes Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Accuvein.
