Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience or 3 years ED experience; experience with high acuity PACU patients required. License: Current nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS required. Must-Have: - Experience with ventilators. - Experience in the post-operative recovery of oncology, orthopedic, gynecological, neurological, and general surgery patients. - Ability to care for hemodynamically unstable patients in Phase I recovery. Description: The position involves caring for patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. It requires proficiency in handling orthopedic, spine, neurological, general, and oncology patients. The patient ratio is 1:2 during both day and night shifts. The role requires floating within the hospital and meeting departmental needs. Experience with arterial line management and care of ventilated patients is preferred. Candidates must be able to handle dysrhythmia recognition and management. The unit provides care to all post-surgical patients except those undergoing eye procedures. Support from various interdisciplinary teams is available. This position may occasionally require weekend shifts based on departmental needs. Candidates should be able to manage patient care and recovery efficiently. Experience with PCA pumps, IV pumps, cardiac monitors, and other special equipment is necessary. References from supervisors are required upon submission. A background check will be conducted before hiring. Travelers must comply with all requirements, including fingerprinting.
