Description:
This role involves working in a pre-operative care setting.
The unit typically handles up to 30 cases per day.
Patient ratios may vary from 1:5 to 1:33 based on the day's cases.
Common diagnoses treated include cholecystectomies, appendectomies, hernia repairs, and various gynecological surgeries.
Experience with advanced procedures like robotics and c-sections is valuable.
A working charge nurse will be present to assist and oversee patient assignments.
Floating among departments may be required as needed.
A weekend commitment is expected, with a 24-hour call shift required once a month.
Call response time is expected to be within 30 minutes.
The unit uses an electronic medical record system for charting.
A small department size fosters collaboration and teamwork.
