Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PACU or Pre/Post Op experience. License: Compact or state RN license required. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS. Must-Have: Candidates must be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed. Candidates should have a background in PACU or Critical Care Post Op experience. Description: Supports patients for all major surgical services. Unit supports all surgical/procedural populations. This department provides pre/post op care to patients in a total of 34 ORs on 2 floors. The floor has a high volume of pediatric patients. Candidates should be prepared to care for patients of all ages in both pre op and phase 1 and phase 2 recovery. Nurses care for pre op, Phase I, and Phase 2 recovery for both pediatric and adult populations. Candidates should have experience with special equipment such as Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Accuvein. Patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:2. Weekend shifts may be required, with 2-3 scheduled weekends per contract. It is necessary to accept assignment conditions related to emergencies as communicated by the unit manager. This role involves an expectation to stay during emergency events or be part of the relief team. Detailed information regarding any emergency event will be provided as needed. All candidates must possess required certifications. NURSYS reports for RNs must be up to date and included. References may be required for clearance to start the contract. Modules are completed during orientation. No prior or in-house contracts within the last year will be accepted.
