Job Title: PACU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PACU Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (06:00 - 14:30; 07:30 - 16:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: - 2 years of experience required - Traveler experience accepted for first-time travelers - Skills in ambulatory/outpatient care - IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, specifically starting and maintaining IVs - Pre/post-operative care skills, including discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, and obtaining operative/procedural consent - Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment, and management Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and may lead to cancellation. Any call-offs or additional RTO could result in cancellation. The unit accepts first-time travelers. Locals are accepted with a rate difference. Work setting experience includes ambulatory/outpatient. The average daily census is 40 patients with 9 rooms/beds. Patient demographics include infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Common diagnoses include eye and ENT patients. The unit specializes in procedures such as tonsillectomy, cataract extraction, and management of pediatric patients. There is no computerized system utilized in the unit. Shifts are scheduled according to unit needs. Scrubs are provided for staff. Passing EKG testing is required prior to the start for this specialty. Weekend coverage is not required. Staff may float to other area facilities if necessary.
