Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum of 1 year of main hospital PACU experience and pediatric experience in the operating room required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required Must-Have: - Pediatric experience in the operating room - 1 year of main hospital PACU experience - Ability to float to like acuities or less as needed Description: This position requires working three 12-hour shifts during the day. On-call requirements include nights, weekends, and holidays. On-call is typically one night a week. Weekends and holidays are required, and no block scheduling is available. Candidates must have pediatric experience in the operating room. The Post Anesthesia Care Unit is a highly skilled 8-bay unit. Patients are transported immediately after surgery to the PACU to be monitored with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1. PACU staff manage patient airways, pain levels, vital signs, and all other post-surgical needs before transporting patients for continued observation. PACU is part of Surgical Services, emphasizing patient satisfaction and safety. This role involves working as part of a team to ensure that patients have a positive experience during their stay. All areas within Surgical Services work collaboratively to provide optimal care using the latest surgical technology and equipment.
