Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse in Asheville, North Carolina. This position involves providing specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients in a dedicated unit that offers advanced procedures and technology. The role requires a dedicated healthcare professional committed to delivering high-quality patient care within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/03/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, at least 1 year of pediatric intensive care experience, and proficiency with Cerner documentation system.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with procedures such as IV starts, central line dressing changes, ventilator management, ICP monitoring, and tracheostomy care.
  • Float: Float to Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units may be required.
  • Additional Information: The unit has 9 beds and employs protocols that include strict patient ratios. Uniform attire is navy blue or white scrubs. Responsibilities include IV starts, cardiac caths, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator management, among others. The team works with shared technical staff and follows hospital-specific policies available on the intranet.
