Job Summary:
Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in pediatric inpatient and procedural care is needed at a pediatric medical and surgical center located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves independent peri-anesthetic management of complex pediatric populations across a variety of surgical and procedural cases. The position offers night shifts with flexible hours, supporting a diverse pediatric patient caseload.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license, BLS, and PALS certifications; at least 2 years of pediatric Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience within the last 3 years; Epic electronic medical record experience; valid pediatric patient experience, including telemetry testing prior to start; excellent knowledge in pediatric airway assessment, vascular access, and perioperative care
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, community hospital experience, trauma level I certification, Inpatient RN experience in pediatric and surgical settings
- Float: Float rotation may be required as needed
- Additional Information: This position involves responsibilities such as monitoring complex pediatric patients, managing central lines and arterial lines, administering blood products and narcotics, providing pain management, and performing advanced assessments including End-Tidal CO2 monitoring. Candidates must successfully pass a telemetric test with a strict passing score and may be required to provide additional certification if failing after two attempts.
