Is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards. Supports Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation s mission statement. Is responsible for care of all patients from birth to elderly, including post-surgical and behavioral health patients. Is responsible for conducting the initial assessment and re-assessment every 24 hours.Position Education: Must have completed a program of education in nursing from an NLN approved institution.Minimum Experience: New graduates accepted. Minimum experience preferred dependent on position.License, Certification, Registration:In addition, must be licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse. Current BLS. The successful candidate will be required to pass and maintain competencies for this position.Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training.Equipment/ equipment (i.e. computer, telephone, fax machine, copy machine)Medical equipment as appropriate for position.Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Proficient oral and written communication skills.1. Able to practice nursing as described in the Alaska Status regarding the practice of Registered Nursing. Cognitive and technical knowledge required with the ability to manage care across the continuum of care. Theoretical knowledge of the nursing process, care management, and continuity of care. 5. MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent draw and interpret graphs, and input computer information. 6. REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
