Job Summary:
Pediatric Floor Nurse position in Dickinson, North Dakota. This role involves providing inpatient care to both adult and pediatric patients with diagnoses such as urinary tract infections, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD. The nurse will be responsible for managing a unit with a pediatric focus, adhering to safety protocols, and working collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with D/N rotation plus weekends as needed; first to float.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to practice as a registered nurse, BLS certification, PALS certification, minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, and current practice license.
  • Additional Information: The unit has 17 beds (14 inpatient, 3 observation). Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 during the day and 1:5 at night. Care includes managing electrolyte levels, hypertensive medications, and diuretics. The role requires troubleshooting cardiac monitors and occasional BIPAP management by respiratory therapy. RNs must read their own telemetry strips. Self-scheduling is permitted. Orientation includes a 12-hour shift or one day and one night. The environment emphasizes communication, motivation, approachability, and teamwork. Float to emergency department or intensive care unit for 1:1s as needed. Candidates must comply with radius rule of 50 miles and cannot be part of certain affiliated organizations. RTO requests must be made upfront within 7 days.
