Job Title: Registered Nurse - Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 1 year in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology acute care or 1 year in pediatric acute care for other positions License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, PALS preferred Must-Have: - Central line management - Chemotherapy administration - Strong pediatric assessment and critical thinking skills Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse in the field of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. The unit has a total of 32 beds with an average of 14-32 patients per day. The role will involve care for patients with diagnoses including leukemia, solid tumors, sickle cell crisis, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, and general adolescent medicine. The nursing ratio is 1:4-5 for Pediatric Adolescent Medicine. Certified Nursing Assistants will assist with vital signs, activities of daily living, safety rounding, and intake and output monitoring. Support staff will include a receptionist, charge nurse, phlebotomist, and various team members for challenging procedures. The position requires readiness to float between units as necessary. This environment promotes teamwork, support, and a family-centered approach to care. There is a strong emphasis on professional growth, education, and safety. Weekend rotation is required every other weekend. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. We welcome candidates with a strong pediatric background, including first-time travelers.
