Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Valid Texas RN license Certifications: BLS and PALS Certification Must-Have: - BLS Certification - PALS Certification Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a pediatric setting. The unit has a total of 38 beds and a staff of 15. On days, the staff includes one Charge Nurse and up to ten RNs based on patient volume and acuity, with up to three Patient Care Technicians (PCTs). Night shift staffing consists of one Charge Nurse and up to ten RNs based on patient volume and acuity, with up to three PCTs. Typical patient ratios are 1 to 4. The unit utilizes an EMR system. Candidates will be expected to perform respiratory care, central line care, GTUBE/NG tube management, drain care, and preoperative/postoperative care. Ideal candidates will possess good communication skills and a strong ability to work collaboratively with a team. The unit may require floating to various areas including Pediatric Medical/Surgical floors, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and Pediatric Oncology. The dress code consists of royal blue scrubs. Four weekend shifts are required during the contract period.
