Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-Hour Shifts per Week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to pediatric and pediatric intensive care patients in a 19-bed unit (10 PICU, 9 Pediatric beds)
- Manage patient ratios of 1:2 for PICU and up to 1:5 for general pediatric patients, adjusting as census and acuity require
- Assist with and monitor procedures including lumbar punctures, intubations, chest tube placements, and conscious sedation
- Operate and monitor unit equipment including Hillrom beds, GE monitors, ICU Medical Plum 360 pumps, and Med Fusion syringe pumps
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with charge nurses and interdisciplinary team members across day and night shifts to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Pediatric nursing experience
- Pediatric ICU experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Combined experience in both general pediatrics and pediatric intensive care settings
- Familiarity with vasoactive drip management and mechanical ventilation support
- Experience with Meditech EMR
