Job Title: RN PICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: RN Medical Center Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2 years PICU RN experience License: IL RN license Certifications: BLS, PALS, NRP highly preferred Must-Have: Previous travel experience not required Description: Pediatric ICU/PCICU nursing position available. Facility includes 300 licensed beds with various designations. Unit information indicates 19-23 beds with an average census of 15-18 patients per day. The patient ratio for RN is 2:1. The unit culture emphasizes teamwork and friendliness. Common patient types and diagnoses include respiratory issues, congenital heart disease, hematology/oncology, post-operative care, and trauma. Support within the department includes CNAs for patient care and room preparation. Additional support staff includes a receptionist, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV team, resource nurse, and telemetry technician. There is 24/7 availability of respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists. Technology and equipment used include EMR, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and monitors.
